A Day At The Zoo

I finally had a weekday off of work. So today, Mom, the girls and I headed over to the Denver Zoo after lunch. The girls had so much fun running from one place to the other looking at every single animal. We saw all kinds of neat animals despite the hot heat. I really enjoyed the zoo because it brought back many great memories of going there as a child. We all had a great time, but I have to admit that the little girls finished off the day with more energy than I did!

Josh's 16th Birthday

Oh my gosh! I have been the worst blogger. My last month of high school just flew by along with my graduation and whole entire summer. Now, here I am...only two weeks away from starting college and finally having to get back into the swing of things. I've decided not to go back and post everything from this summer, but just start with today! And hopefully I can keep my blog more up to date!
Today after church, my family along with my Uncle John, Aunt Tish, cousins Jordan and Rylan, Gramps and Grandma, and long time friend Stephanie Loehr and her parents Kent and Nancy all joined us at Fudruckers to celebrate Josh's 16th birthday! No car for this boy, but he did some awesome books, a "Vote For Pedro" shirt, a webcam, money (for an iPod) and a trip to a Project 86 concert! We all went home full of burgers and chocolate malts! Happy birthday, little bro!

Passover Dinner

Passover has always been a special holiday to my mom. It's a holiday we've celebrated ever since I can remember. Although we're not Jewish, it doesn't mean we can't learn something every time we celebrate it. This was our first Passover in our new house and it has become more special to my little sisters. Everything you eat is symbolitic of the Isrealites leaving Eygpt and Jesus' freeing love.

Mercy Catching Sun

I did it! I finally got my Canon Digital Rebel XT camera! And I love it! I love being able to see my shots right away. I really think it's going to help me become a better photographer.

And the story behind this adorable picture: I brought home a sticker from the tanning salon to give to Mercy, as she was begging me to bring her a present that day. The next day, I walk into the living room to find Mercy laying out on the deck with her shirt pulled up to expose the heart sticker on her stomach. It was so cute that I had to snap a couple pictures with my new camera!

Becoming an Adult

For my 18th birthday, my mom treated me to my favorite dinner-fettucini alfredo-and some German Chocolate cake which, without recieving the baking powder, we decided to rename German Chocolate pancakes! I just love my mom! Mercy made the day special by waking me up and giving me a homemade card. All in all, it was a very nice birthday.
