Shout Out To Kim!!

I wanted to post my most recent published page. I was sooo excited that Creating Keepsakes picked up this layout of Kimmy and I for the Pretty Accent article. The coolest thing that is, if you open to the table to contents on page 13, you'll see Kimberly and I's face indicated which page the article is on! Sooo cool! They used the page for 'using symbolic accents' on page 130 of the February 2006 issue. You can probably still check it out at Barnes and Noble. Thanks for letting me share!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas from Me, Josh, Mercy, Melissa and puppy Jazz!

{Click on photo to see larger}
Wow! The year really flew by! It was such a great one. I had such good intentions for sending out many cute Christmas cards that I had been making over the months and a brief newsletter about the happenings in my life. But between school, work and being sick almost all of December, it just didn't happen. I promise I'll send my cards out next year. So here's my Christmas greeting. Thanks so much for coming a checking out my blog. Please leave some comments and let me know you stopped by. I would post more, but I'm not sure if anyone reads my posts! I just want to give you a brief summary of 2005 with the top five things that happened/I accomplished this past year.

1. I graduated from A Beka Academy High School in Pensacola, Florida in May and got to go to DisneyWorld and Universal Studios.

2. I started earning my degree in Graphic Design to Print and (Thank, God!) have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.

3. In September, my boyfriend Clint and I had officially been dating 2 years....27 months and still counting! I LOVE him!

4. This spring I was awarded an Honorable Mention in Creating Keepsakes' Hall of Fame Contest. I was the youngest at 17 to ever be awarded and this means I am one of the top 75 scrapbookers in the world.

5. I finally, after many years, finished reading the entire Bible. I was also on my church's worship team this year and got closer to God and the plans He has for the rest of my life.

God bless all of you and I hope you have any amazing year!

I Won! I Won!

So in my typhography class for school we had a assignment to design a logo for Sewell Center's 1st Annual Blues Bash. It is a charity event that will be happening annually and they needed an identifing logo/symbol to use on a huge poster, invitation, t-shirt and a bead for a necklace. So out of about 30 logos submitted by students, THEY PICKED MINE! I was so excited and shocked. They payed me $50, and it's something that will go on my school record and in my portfolio. I just wanted to share. They won't be printing any pieces for about a month, but I'll post some pictures if I can. Here's the logo:

My Secret Santa Came!

So I'm a part of a group that is all the ladies that won Honorable Mentions in the Hall of Fame. One of the ladies organized a secret santa gift exchange to give scrapbooking stuff to each other. So fun! I had a blast shopping for my secret santie, and last night I recieved my awesome box of stuff from Deb, my secret santa! How cute is the box she decorated for me?? I LOVE it! I was able to guess who it was from the style!

I got all kinds of neat stuff - paper by Magic Scraps, Basic Grey, KI Memories and a company that I'd never heard of called Zsiage. Really cute! I got some Christina Cole goodies, Rob and Bob stickers, Magic Scraps stickers and slide mounts, Hiedi Grace acrylic bikini, American Crafts ribbon and some awesome Fontwerk stamps in my favorite font Ma Sexy.

Deb, you totally rock! Thank you sooo much!

What Do You Do On Friday Night?

So how do you spend your Friday night? Two Fridays ago, I was so happy that I was able to make it to Midland in time to see Clint and his band Lifted play. It had been over two years since I had seen them play and they did an awesome job! Kim has such an amazing voice and Clint, Tommy and Nathan are all very musically talented. They played for about 200 teenagers at a youth rally and God really touched them. They had a alter call near the end for teenagers to pray to receive boldness to go into their schools and be a witness for Christ. I got to pray with several girls and I could tell that God had really touched them. It was such a great night. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my Friday night. Many girls may age go out and party on Friday night and do all kinds of crazy things that I don't even want to think about! Why would I want to go get totally stoned and feel horrible the next day when I could be an influence and encouragement in someone else's life instead? That's how I'd spend my Friday night.
