Passover Dinner

Passover has always been a special holiday to my mom. It's a holiday we've celebrated ever since I can remember. Although we're not Jewish, it doesn't mean we can't learn something every time we celebrate it. This was our first Passover in our new house and it has become more special to my little sisters. Everything you eat is symbolitic of the Isrealites leaving Eygpt and Jesus' freeing love.

Mercy Catching Sun

I did it! I finally got my Canon Digital Rebel XT camera! And I love it! I love being able to see my shots right away. I really think it's going to help me become a better photographer.

And the story behind this adorable picture: I brought home a sticker from the tanning salon to give to Mercy, as she was begging me to bring her a present that day. The next day, I walk into the living room to find Mercy laying out on the deck with her shirt pulled up to expose the heart sticker on her stomach. It was so cute that I had to snap a couple pictures with my new camera!

Becoming an Adult

For my 18th birthday, my mom treated me to my favorite dinner-fettucini alfredo-and some German Chocolate cake which, without recieving the baking powder, we decided to rename German Chocolate pancakes! I just love my mom! Mercy made the day special by waking me up and giving me a homemade card. All in all, it was a very nice birthday.

Spring Blizzard

Definitly a record blizzard here in Colorado this weekend! We had nearly a foot come down and the drift in our front yard came to 4 1/2 feet! Josh and Dad were out for quite awhile shoveling the snow wall away so we can get our cars out of the garage. I think this is the first time I have had snow on my birthday, much less snowed in! As you can see from the picture, we weren't really able to open our front door! I don't think the snow will be around for long. It is supposed to get up to 70 degrees tomorrow, so we may not see any more snow until next fall.

Pre-Birthday Outing

Mom and I went on a pre-birthday outing to downtown Denver today, so I was able to pull my new clothes from Express that I haven't had a chance to wear. Just when I start to think it's going to finally stay warm, we hear there is a blizzard coming. I was forced to put on jeans before leaving the house for fear of getting stuck in snow on the way home. We went to eat at the Blue Bonnet Cafe which was rated Denver's Best Mexican Food Restaurant three years in a row. Sadly to say, it's most definitly not #1 in my book and I have yet to find a decent Mexican restaurant in Colorado. I really miss the amazing Mexican food in Texas!
